Sanctuary Salve

Description

• The magic of Calendula, Comfrey and Yarrow have been infused into organic olive over a full moon cycle. I consider combining these three medicinal herbs to be a triple threat. Calendula is an incredibly healing herb that is connected to the warm energy of the sun, with antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties to help heal burns, bites, cuts, bruises and promote cell repair. Comfrey is a wonderfully healing herb ruled by Saturn, that also promotes cell repairs and heals wounds. The infused oil added to this salve can also help ease back and joint pain. It can actually heal wounds so quickly that it is not recommended to place on a puncture wound, as it can heal the skin over too fast, leaving room for infection. But, it is a powerful healer for rashes, scrapes, and even eczema. Yarrow is a sweet looking but powerful vulnerary, or wound healing plant, ruled by Venus. It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. The Latin name of Yarrow is Achillea Millefolium, connecting to the warrior Achilles. One tale describes how Achilles’ mother dipped him in a bath of Yarrow as protection. However, the heel by which she dipped him into the water was not submerged in Yarrow, and as a result, it was that heel that was ultimately Achilles’ downfall, as it was the only part of his body not protected by Yarrow. Use this healing salve after a day in the garden, a day volunteering at an animal sanctuary, or anytime your hands, elbows, or soles of feet need a little healing help and protection.
