Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m Uta, an ancestral animist living in Oakland, CA. The name Fernweh Moon combines the magic of ferns with the deep mystery of the moon. Fernweh is the German word to express the deep desire to travel, but more like a nostalgia or ache for a place we may have not yet discovered.

“We are showered every day with gifts, but they are not meant for us to keep. Their life is in their movement, the inhale and the exhale of our shared breath. Our work and our joy is to pass along the gift and to trust that what we put out into the universe will always come back.”

― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants

All items are handcrafted by me in small batches, with organic and vegan ingredients, harnessing the energy of the moon and herbs.
