Thanks so much for stopping by. I am an ancestral animist living in Oakland, CA. had a love of nature since a young age, and am particularly enamored with ferns and how ancient and magical they are.

The name Fernweh Moon combines the magic of ferns with the deep mystery of the moon. Fernweh is the German word to express the deep desire to travel, but more like a nostalgia or ache for a place we may have not yet discovered. It describes the desire to leave your home and everything you know to go and travel to the unknown. By adding in the word moon, it expresses the desire and longing to travel outside of our world, to the cosmos and beyond.

I’m interested in sharing the magic of the moon with my herbal offerings, and completed the Cosmos of Herbs Program and Mentorship at The Herbal Path (based in Portugal and taken online). I’m currently enrolled in the Astro-Herbalism and Botanical Constellation courses at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism, learning more about how plants and planets align. Ferns have been around for centuries, and their mystical qualities have long been revered by many cultures. There is something about their lush, verdant leaves that seems to defy logic and nature. They are often seen as symbols of growth, new beginnings, and healing. Ferns also have a strong connection to the moon, which only adds to their otherworldly appeal.

There is also something magic about the moon. It’s representative of our emotions and ever-changing cycles, while also being a powerful force in its own right. The moon has been used as a symbol of healing and protection throughout history, and its energy can be harnessed in many different ways. I’m particularly interested in using the power of the moon to enhance my herbal offerings and share with my community.

All items are handcrafted by me in small batches, with organic and vegan ingredients, harnessing the energy of the moon and herbs. On a typical day, you can find me waking up and making notes of any dreams I remember. I make coffee from mushrooms (and thank the mycelium), and set an extra cup on my ancestor altar, thanking them and greeting them for the day. I walk out to my garden and greet my plants friends and appreciate our connection., intuitively thinking if any herbs might combine well for a new salve or balm. I move about my daily tasks and rituals, making herbal tea throughout the day, and taking a moment of pause to appreciate the feel and aroma of a new herbal hand cream. I end the day with another batch of tea, and go back outside to look up at the moon. I thank the moon, and pick a book to read before bed.
